Mr. Andrew J. McGowan, Jr., age 74, died Tuesday, January 21, 2020, at Ogeechee Area Hospice in Statesboro. He was a native of Emanuel County and had lived in the Statesboro area for thirty years. Andy treasured spending time with his grandchildren. He enjoyed music and attended bluegrass music festivals whenever he could.

Andy was preceded in death by his wife Brenda Hodges McGowan; his parents, Andrew J. McGowan, Sr. and Viola Cordry McGowan; his sister, Sue Brewer; and his daughter Belinda Tuttle.

Surviving are his daughters, Beth Simmons and her husband Chris of Statesboro, Amanda McGowan of Atlanta, Melissa Cote and her husband Joe of Richmond Hill, and Regenia Kozlowski of South Carolina; fourteen grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; and his sister Gail Helton of Statesboro.

Visitation will be held Thursday, January 23, 2020 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Deal Funeral Directors.

The funeral service will be held Thursday, January 23, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Deal Funeral Directors with Rev. Mike Holt and Elder Jake Futch officiating.

Burial will follow in Bulloch Memorial Gardens.
