Donna Jean McNamar, age 80, beloved wife, mom, grandma, GiGi, sister, aunt, and sister-In-law passed into eternal Peace on Thursday January 2, 2020. Donna worked many years with Brunswick Corporation of America in management and was a beloved waitress at Waffle House until her retirement in 2010. Upon retirement she was kept busy by helping take care of her great grands and making sure to keep her husband on his toes every day. She loved to be outside swinging on her porch swing, watching cowboy shows, especially Matt Dillon, and don’t even think to start talking during her game shows! She was an avid bowler and swimmer during her younger days and loved to teach the newer generations the art of bowling and working at a bowling CENTER never an alley! She loved spending time with her friends and family and never met a stranger. She was Mama Donna or Grandma Donna to nearly everyone she knew and was loved by all.
Donna is preceded in death by husband, Edward J. Morgan; son, Michael A. Morgan; parents, John and Frances Grimes; two sisters, Patty Moats and Sara McMullen; two brothers, Tommy Uphold and John Grimes; and grandson, Gabrial McNamar.
Surviving are her husband of 23 years, Elton C. McNamar Jr.; one daughter, Victoria A. Davis; three sons, Robert J. Morgan, James E. Morgan (Pam), Steven R. Morgan (Cindy); stepchildren, Travis McNamar (Nicole), Brandy McNamar, Elton C. McNamar III and Bridget McNamar-Massey (Jacob); one sister, Eleanor O'Connor; one brother-in-law, Richard “Dick” Morgan (Connie); grandchildren, Heather Padgett, Crystal Ray (Doug), Crystal Morgan, Eddie Wade, Josh, Joe (Stacie), Jamie Morgan, Joey Oliver (Alejandra), Jamie Oliver (Sarah), Melissa Cook, April Morgan, Brandy Ponder (Amar), Seth, Caleb, Stevanee Morgan, Gabby Muri, Katelynn, Nevaeh, Hazel, and Julianne Massey, Johnathan, Bailey, Jason, Brandon, and Destiny McNamar, Caleb McNamar, Dalton, Mackenzie, and Malita McNamar; as well as 20 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Monday January 6, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Statesboro First Baptist Church with Rev. Ricky Allen officiating.
Memorials may be made in her memory to support the research of Alzheimer’s or Dementia.
