Gail McElveen

Lela Gail McElveen, age 78, passed away Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at East Georgia Regional Medical Center under the care of Regency SouthernCare Hospice, Statesboro, Georgia.  Gail is finally whole and home.

Gail was born in Statesboro, Georgia on August 12, 1942 to Earl and Ouida McElveen.  From the beginning, Gail suffered with both mental and physical disabilities. However, her disabilities never dulled the light in her eyes nor the love from those she came in contact with. She was able to live with her parents for more than fifty years and was always considered a blessing, never a burden. Though limited in what she could accomplish, she was an inspiration to many.

Gail is survived by her sister, Ellen Stanley (Frank), several nieces and cousins.

Graveside services will be Friday, September 11 at 2:00 PM at Eastside Cemetery, Statesboro, Georgia with Elder Jake Futch officiating.
