Janie Wilson Pope

Janie Wilson Pope, age 86, passed away Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at her residence in Brooklet, GA. Janie was born and raised in Stilson, Georgia to the late Perry Wilson and Carrie Calahan Wilson. She spent most of her life in Bulloch County but lived in Bloomingdale for 30 years before moving back in 1993.

She enjoyed cooking, sewing, working on the farm tending to the animals, but most of all spending time with her grands and great grands. She was a devout Christian with a strong faith and a longtime member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Brooklet, Georgia.

She is preceded in death by her husband, James Allen Pope, Sr.; daughters, Linda Jenkins and Brenda Kay Wiggins; son, James Allen Pope, Jr.; grandson, Michael Helmley; and brother, Jeff Wilson. 

She is survived by her sister, Mary Whaley; brothers, Clarence Wilson and Tommy Wilson; sister-in-law, Faye Wilson; son-in-law, Thomas Wiggins; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. 

Visitation will be held Friday, December 6, 2024, from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. at Deal Funeral Directors.

The funeral service will be held Friday, December 6, 2024, at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Deal Funeral Directors with Brother Joseph Clifford officiating.

Interment will follow at Immanuel Baptist Church Cemetery in Brooklet, Georgia with Pastor Johnathon Spencer officiating.
