Mrs. Jean Williams McCown Lee, age 90, passed away Friday at East Georgia Regional Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Pahokee, Florida and was a longtime resident of Bulloch County. Jean worked for many years in the banking industry before retiring in the early 90’s. She was a longtime member of the Statesboro First Baptist Church and the Alathean Sunday School Class. Jean enjoyed playing bridge with her friends and was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Neal “Bill” Lee.

Survivors include two sons and daughters in law, Laymon and Joy McCown of Brunswick, GA and Neal and Lynn Lee of Statesboro, GA; five grandchildren, Matt (Lindsey) McCown of Brunswick, Thomas Masopust, Sarah Reed, Erika Lee (Jordyn Surratt), and Brooke (Tyler) Ward, all of Statesboro; three great grandchildren, Parker, Sydney, and Austin McCown, all of Brunswick; two brothers, Hal (Betty Jo) Williams of Register, GA and Robert “Bobby” Williams of Statesboro, GA; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Sunday from 4:00 until 6:00 PM at Deal Funeral Directors.

The funeral service will be held Monday at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Deal Funeral Directors with Rev. Ricky Allen officiating.

Burial will be in Bulloch Memorial Gardens.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Statesboro First Baptist Church, 108 N. Main Street, Statesboro, GA 30458.

Deal Funeral Directors of Statesboro is in charge of the arrangements.
