Jennifer "Jenni" Williams

Jennifer “Jenni” Williams, age 76, passed away on Thursday, December 22, 2022, at Eagle Health and Rehabilitation in Statesboro, Georgia. Jenni was born on January 6, 1946, to the late James A. Williams and Inez C. Williams in Fresno, California.

In 1963, Jenni graduated from Marvin Pittman Laboratory School and then attended Georgia Southern College where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Home Economics. Jenni also received a Master of Education degree in Family and Child Development from Auburn University. She had a love for helping others, especially children, and this kept her in Columbus for over 40 years. She taught at Columbus College, worked for the Columbus Housing Authority, and retired from Fort Benning where she was the Assistant Director of Child Development, Family Support Division. During her time at the housing authority, she created and designed preschool centers within the housing developments.

Jenni was an active member of Pierce Chapel United Methodist Church in Columbus, Georgia and was instrumental in starting the preschool program which still exists today. She was also a charter member at Pittman Park United Methodist Church in Statesboro, Georgia.

She is survived by her sister, Deborah W. Brown (James) of Statesboro; a brother, Stanley A. Williams of Statesboro; a niece, Lori B. Sigler (David); a great-niece, Mallon Sigler; and a great-nephew, Davis Sigler all of Birmingham, Alabama.

A funeral service celebrating the life of Jenni Williams will be held in the Mausoleum Chapel at Bulloch Memorial Gardens on Monday, December 26, 2022 at 2:00 PM, officiated by Elder Jake Futch.
