Jimmy C. “Jim” Henley , age 54, passed away Friday, September 10, 2021 at Northside Hospital in Duluth, GA due to complications from COVID. He was a 1985 graduate of Statesboro High School and received his Bachelors in Electrical Engineering Technology from Georgia Southern University in 1995.  Jim was employed with Briggs and Stratton as an Electrical Engineer. He enjoyed music and was a talented guitar player. Jim enjoyed working in his yard, planting a garden, and could fix just about anything. He was a great cook, enjoyed playing pool, and was a lifetime blood donor with the American Red Cross. Jim was a member of Grace Community Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, O.J. and Patricia Henley.

Jim is survived by his wife of twenty five years, Amanda Rushing Henley; one son, Gavin James Henley, both of Register, GA; two brothers, Jeff (Carolyn) Henley, Jody Henley, of Statesboro, GA; two sisters in-law, Lisa Rushing (Allen) Ryles, Jennifer Rushing (DJ) Vickery, all of Register; his mother-in-law, Ramona Rushing; his father-in-law, Robert Rushing; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Monday, September 13, 2021 from 5:00 PM-7:00 PM at Deal Funeral Directors. Due to the surge in COVID cases the family will not be present for the visitation but welcome you to come by and sign the book.

Private graveside services and burial will be held on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Mike Holt officiating. The graveside service will be streamed using Facebook Live on Deal Funeral Directors Facebook Page.

Pallbearers will be Allen Ryles, DJ Vickery, Roy White, John Biggers, Ricky da Silva, and Jacob Henley.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make memorial contributions to the Gavin Henley College Trust Fund at Renasant Bank or to Ogeechee Area Hospice, P.O. Box 531, Statesboro, GA 30459.
