Joel Durward Puzder

Joel Durward Puzder, 50 years young, of Brooklet, Ga went home to be with Jesus on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 with his loving wife & family by his side after a long and courageous battle with Covid. Joel was born on September 18, 1970 in Fulton County, Ga.

Joel had a passion for anything fast - including cars and motorcycles. Joel  was an avid motorcycle rider and we are sure he pulled into Heaven on two wheels!  He was also very talented in the garage - not just a mechanic, but someone who truly had the gift of making any project come to life by repairing or constructing.

Joel was employed by Colonial Oil Group in Savannah Ga and previously by Griffin Spalding County Schools Transportation Department.

Joel was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Lawrence Puzder.

Joel is survived by his wife , Allison, and their three boys , Paeton , Ian and Landon Puzder ; mother and step father,  Charlie & Carol Hicks; brothers, Charles (Shannon) of St  John, US Virgin Islands & Timothy (Kathy) of Locust Grove, Ga and stepbrothers, Shaun & Jason Spears.

He is also survived by his very special niece and nephew, Tyleranne and TJ Puzder and bonus nephews and niece, Joseph Anderson , Hunter, Easton &  Makinleigh Spears & Riley Clifton , along with several aunts, uncles and cousins who adored him.

Joel was also blessed with parents by love, Wayne & Joyce Banks of Senoia and special in-laws, Debbie & Buddy Bacon and Amy & Lee Sherrod.

Joel was most proud and loved his family more than anything, and they will miss him more than he will ever know . He was a friend to all and always willing to help a friend or stranger.

The family would like to thank everyone at East Georgia Regional Medical Center for their loving care of Joel while he battled Covid.

Joel’s celebration of life will be Saturday, October 16, 2021 at Harville House Barn at 1850 Harville Road, Statesboro, Ga at 2pm. Food will be provided and please feel free to bring a cooler and spend some time with the family sharing stories of Joel and celebrating the wonderful soul he was.
