John Delano Kennedy

Mr. John Delano Kennedy, age 90, passed away Sunday, August 4, 2024 at his residence. The Tattnall County native, born March 29, 1934, lived most of his life in Claxton. He was the son of the late James Hinton Kennedy and Lera Burroughs Kennedy. He retired in 1996 as Evans County Tax Assessor and was a member of Claxton First Church. Mr.

Kennedy attended Georgia Southern University and served in the United States Army. He was a member of the Hymnsmen Quartet for over 50 years and sang throughout the southeast in numerous churches and, performed at many civic functions. Mr. Kennedy was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Driver Kennedy, and his sister, Anne Kennedy DeLoach.

 Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Karey and Tracey Hathcock of Claxton, Ga, Jon Ann and Victor Love of Claxton, Ga, Patricia and Scott Anderson of Navarre, Fl; seven grandchildren, John Lee Hathcock, Glynn Stivender, Kelly Stivender, Rebecca and Ryan Uhl, Russell Love, Steven and Alexiz Anderson, and Daniel Anderson; two great grandsons, Lucas Stivender and Roberto Anderson; two brothers, Jimmy H. Kennedy of Reidsville, and W. Jerry Kennedy of Pelham; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Saturday, August 10, 2024 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at Union Church, 57 Union Church Road, Claxton, GA.

Funeral services for Mr. Kennedy will be Saturday, Aug. 10, 2024 at 11:00 am at Union Church, 57 Union Church Road, Claxton, GA.

Burial will follow in church cemetery.
