Kristina “Kris” Wilson Flake passed away while under the care of Ogeechee Area Hospice on November 7, 2021. Kris had fought a brave battle against cancer and now she has won the Victory in Jesus.
She was born on April 2, 1969 to Richard Wilson and Carol Madej Wilson in Columbus, Ohio. Kris earned a master’s degree and taught special education at Mill Creek for many years. She had a love for the arts but also loved the comics, especially the “Peanuts” character, Snoopy.
Kris was a member of Pittman Park United Methodist Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir.
She is preceded in death by her father, Richard Wilson; and her grandparents, Helen and Robert Dennis and Theresa and Walter Madej.
Kris is survived by her loving husband of 31 years, Jeffrey Flake; her sons Corey Flake of Statesboro, Georgia, and Seth Flake of Statesboro; her daughter, Amanda (Gary) Willis, Jr. and adored granddaughter, Emma, of Warner Robins, Georgia; her mother, Carol Wilson; brother, Eric (Patty) Wilson; aunt, Linda Madej; and uncle, Walter (Nancy) Madej.
A Graveside Memorial Service will be held Saturday, November 13, 2021 at Middle Ground Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery at 2:00 PM with Reverend Bill Bagwell officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions be made to Ogeechee Area Hospice at oahospice.org or to Adult Congenital Heart Association at achaheart.org
