Mary Louise Gillespie

Mary Louise Gillespie, age 74, passed away December 17, 2020 at Willow Pond Senior Care under the care of Regency SouthernCare Hospice.

Mary was born on November 16, 1946 to Edward and Birdie Mae Marcus Webb in Highlands, North Carolina. She spent most of her life in Seneca, South Carolina but moved to Statesboro, Georgia in March 2018.

She loved spending time with her family and sharing stories about her grandchildren to anyone that would listen. Walking gave Mary not only exercise but also a time to reflect and was one of her most enjoyable pastimes. She enjoyed both music and dancing and loved hosting get togethers for family and friends.  But her favorite get togethers were the Clemson Football tailgate parties. She did love her Clemson Football!

Mary is preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Birdie Mae Webb and her sisters, Mable Smith and Lorenia Lee (Butch).

She is survived by and will be greatly missed by her husband, Donald Gillespie of Fleming Island, Florida; her son, Tony Gillespie (Kathy) of Raeford, North Carolina; her daughter, Tina Gillespie Beckum (Christopher) of Statesboro, Georgia; grandchildren, Brandon Beckum (Kristin) of Statesboro, Georgia and Christina Griffin (David) of Dublin, Georgia; great grandchildren, Kaelyn, Kobe, Bryce and arriving in June, Emmett; her sisters, Betty Smith and Bernice Young; her brother, Ira Webb (Darlene) and several nieces and nephews.
