Mrs. Mavis C. Morris passed quietly away at her home in Brooklet, Georgia on February 5, 2022 with her husband of 56 years by her side. Mrs. Morris was born on March 21, 1937 in Baxley, Georgia to Charles and Alice Clements. She lived in Brunswick Georgia for more than 20 years before moving to Brooklet in the nineties. Mrs. Morris also loved her family and it showed in the way she served them. She was an old-time homemaker with old-time homemaking skills. Cooking meals for her family was never a chore but a blessing. She made her children’s clothes on her home sewing machine but had worked in a sewing factory earlier in her life. She had also helped her husband, Bill, run his lawn care service.
Mrs. Morris was preceded in death by her son, Keith Shipes.
She is survived by her husband, Bill Morris; daughters, Danna (Jeff) Knowlton and Kim (Darren) Strean both of Brunswick, Georgia; grandchildren, Croy Shipes, Stone Shipes, Jeffree Knowlton, Sydney Rowell, Sloan Knowlton and Gabby Rowell; and great granddaughter, Emmalynn Knowlton.
The Funeral Service will be held Thursday, February 10 at 11:00 AM at Lanes Primitive Baptist Church with visitation one hour prior to the service beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
