Richard Lewis Akins

Richard Lewis Akins, age 59, passed away on March 10th, 2021 at his home surrounded by the family he loved and who dearly loved him. He was born in Augusta, Georgia on May 31, 1961 to Clinton Lewis and Linda Dianne Edwards Akins.

Richard graduated from Hancock Day School in Savannah, Georgia and would go on to become a Journeyman Electrician, working  for 508 Local Union for many years. When he was not working and had some spare time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. But, in the fall on Saturday afternoons, you could find him cheering on his Georgia Bulldogs--he was a life-long dedicated fan.

Richard is survived by his daughters, Rachael Ann Raynor (Philip) and Mara Elizabeth Akins; his grandsons, Peyton Wade Raynor and Preston Grant Raynor; a brother, Ray Akins (Kristina); and a nephew, Johnathan Akins.

A Celebration of Life with immediate family and close friends is planned for a later date.
