Robert Joe Currin

Robert Joe Currin, 73 , of Brooklet ,GA passed away at Ogeechee Area Hospice Tuesday December 26, 2023 surrounded by his loved ones. He was a highly decorated and honored member of the United States Airforce for 20 years. Robert was in the 82nd Airborne and served in the Persian Gulf War. He served as a weather forecaster in the military and was a member of the Special Operations Weather Team, 3-160th Soar Night Stalkers. Robert was lovingly known as the " Airborne Cowboy".  He had a passion for music and playing the guitar.  Robert enjoyed camping and the outdoors. He adored  spending time with his family. Robert had a love for motorcycles in his youth and enjoyed riding ATV's in his retirement. He is preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
Robert is survived by his wife, Rhonda K. Currin; his daughter, Diana ( Farris) Tompkins and their children, Emerson Tompkins, Olivia Tompkins; his son, Robert Lucas Currin and his children, Avery Currin and Cale Currin; his brothers, Mike Currin and John Currin. A graveside service with military honors will be held Friday December 29, 2023 at 1:00PM in Bulloch Memorial Gardens with Chaplain Tom Alderman officiating.
