Rosser Elkins, Jr. (Rod) age 73, died on Wednesday, August 19th, 2020. The son of Rosser and Melba Elkins, Rod spent most of his formative years in Riviera Beach, Florida where he was active in First Presbyterian Church.
Following his graduation from Florida Presbyterian College, he joined the newly formed Peace Corp, serving two years in India. As a classically trained oboist, he played in the Palm Beach Symphony and the Boca Pops for many years. Rod eventually moved to his mother’s family homestead in Uvalda, Georgia. He enthusiastically embraced all aspects of the community and enjoyed singing with local choral groups.
Rod is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, James Samuel and Debby Waddington Elkins and his nephews and niece: Michael Dillon, Isaiah Price, Robby Elkins, Nicole Elkins, and Kyle Elkins. He was preceded in death by his beloved parents and his only sister Anna Melba Elkins Rubyon.
A funeral service will be held at a later date. Rod was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
